Governor Quinn signs Puppy Lemon LawCongrats to Governor Quinn for signing the Puppy Lemon Law on August 17th at Wiggly Field, located at 2465 N. Sheffield Ave. This law will now allow consumers to receive a refund, replacement or reimbursement of veterinary costs for animals purchased with a pre-existing or undisclosed disease or illness. The law will also require pet stores to notify customers and the state veterinarian of a life-threatening outbreak of contagious diseases. While there is obviously never a replacement for a pet, this law will place increased financial pressure on pet stores, which in large part obtain pets from puppy mills. Good job, Governor!
